Welding Manager - Oil & Gas Industry Pipeline Company

Our Client, a growing oilfield services company, is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Welding Manager in its pipeline construction division.
 
General Responsibilities:
 
  • Manages, supervises and coordinates all welding for the pipeline department
  • Responsible for handling existing customers as well as developing new ones.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Manage, supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures
  • Applies knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, equipment, and fabrication requirements
  • Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required to quote jobs
  • Inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality
  • Maintains job sheets to determine cost of projects
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Hires welders and welder helpers as needed
  • Manages bending operations for the pipeline department
 
Qualifications:
  • Requires a high level of technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of the processes used and how they are applied for maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • 5 years experience in Oil & Gas related welding and supervising welding departments
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blue prints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be fluent with geometry and trigonometry
  • Must have working knowledge of common MS office programs
  • Must have strong analytical, communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Must possess a valid/clear Driver’s License
Compensation / Schedule Overview:
  • Salary based on experience.
